This was a thoughtful and helpful book about my Thyroid issues. Updated March – I’m shelving this for a while or at least until I decide whether to move forward with the tests or not. The information is presented for educational purposes only. Richard and Karilee Shames You aren’t feeling well.
Books by Richard L. Physician Richard Shames is a founding member of the American Holistic Medical Association, while his wife, Karilee Shames, is certified in psychiatric and holistic nursing. There is a big push for getting tests done, so once they’re done with my PCP, I’ll be giving this more attention.

Particularly, I like the information on alternative testing and resources, and the very concise checklists in the back of each chapter. Richard graduated Harvard and University of Pennsylvania, did research at the National Institutes of Health with Nobel Prize winner Marshall Nirenberg, and has been in private practice for twenty five years. And, I discovered that even though I know I have hypothyroidism, the glands that have been giving me the most problem lately are my adrenals.
Thank you for allowing us to support your health feelibg. Although many readers might be drawn to the book for the authors’ promise of greater vitality, they may be more gratified to learn that, by restoring hormonal and glandular balance, they may be mitigating many fuzzh health conditions, too. Some good information, but I’m not quite ready to sink hundreds of dollars into lab tests that efeling require me finding a new physician just to order them. I’ll keep reading though and see what I can figure out. Feeling Fat, Fuzzy, or Frazzled?: I was nervous that I wouldn’t understand what was going on.
I found it a bit repetitive, but frazzlex someone isn’t reading it straight through because they identified with one hormonal imbalance most stronglythey probably wouldn’t notice that. Fatigue, depression, weight gain, high cholesterol, low sex function, insomnia, anxiety, attention deficit, and severe menopause are common health challenges today. Okay, so what does the book tell you far how to understand the interplay of the different hormones? Yet generally, they are NOT the true culprit.
I love the information, helpful and has given me more insight on my hashimotos disease. Frazzlled, you visit the doctor, who orders the typical battery of tests.

Overall I liked this book because it was clearly written with very specific recommendations. According to the Shameses, patients and their health-care providers must address each system, first targeting the areas of major disturbance, then looking at the other systems to correct secondary problems.
