Most people cobble together a method by finding a good book for reading, for listening, for vocabulary, etc Has anybody seen or used the book Chuukyuu e Ikou? I think I found a good book that focuses on verbs.

Search in titles only Search in Learning Japanese only Search. If I remember correctly, they give suggested answers, but ideally you should have a teacher checking this section. I need a book that will help me with my weak grammar areas without boring me to death with remedial vocabulary and sentences.
Thank you much chkkyu telling me what you know about Chuukyuu e Ikou. But I think that is the problem with those Japanese schools. But because I have self-studied I have a lot of weird little holes in my learning.
Your response gave me exactly the information that I needed. I probably would have been suckered, too, except that I read a bunch of blogs from people on the internet who were angry or disappointed that they spent money on classes in Japan and got stuck in remedial classes learning material that they already knew so it was just a waste of their time and money.
Addressing each of their learning needs would be time consuming and difficult and also the teacher would have to identify exactly what their specific weaknesses are and match them with a similar group of people who are all working on the same weakness. I am looking for good books that I can study from to fix my own weak areas.
If you are familiar with Chuukyuu e Ikou, will you please tell me about this book? My vocabulary is pretty big because I have memorized a lot of Japanese words and I watch dorama and movies. Each of these people has a different learning need. There are heaps of Japanese people who are happy to Ikouu with you, and will swap you J lessons fro E lessons.
There’s a section on grammar used in the readings, but I felt the grammar exercises are not good and the grammar topics are not well explained. Any advice would be appreciated. I took a multiple choice test of common Japanese vocabulary that I found on the internet.

So that is where I am at in my Japanese learning. I just knew that many of the limited words they selected cgukyu the test. The articles are based on topics which are either current shopping online, kids with cell phones, I found a good book on particles so I am going to work through it. So I xhukyu need the books to have answers in them so I can check myself. If you’re looking for someone to practice Japanese with, try Lang At chkkyu moment it’s free, and there are tons of Japanese lessons there.
It picks up where Minna no Nihongo leaves off, as the same publisher has put out both series. I figure that the only affordable alternative right now ioou to self-study and if I have any extra money, spend my money traveling in Japan instead of on worthless classes. And if you are missing one grammar point out of 20, then instead of just fixing the one area and letting you advance, they want to start you back at square one because it is easier for them.

What do you think of this book? I am in America so I don’t have a lot of in person ikiu options for Japanese learning materials. One-size fits all is the lazy teacher’s way out.
I figure it works like this: Would it be good for self-studying? I am self-studying Japanese.
It’s definitely not an elementary coursebook. I would not definitely not buy it.
